All of us at Delete Tattoo Removal & Laser Salon firmly believe in being the healthiest version of ourselves. In recognition of World Health Day we want to highlight not only this year's important WHO topic, but also some of our own tips on being healthy!
WHO’s main topics of discussion this year are vector and vector-borne diseases. These little organisms are more commonly found in places where drinking water and sanitation systems are problematic. Malaria and Dengue are the most deadly vector-borne diseases in the world. The presence of these and other vector and vector-borne diseases are showing up in places where they were previously unknown. There are now reports of Malaria and Dengue being in the United States. Florida and Puerto Rico have been hit the hardest, with over 20,000 cases being reported. We can focus our efforts at addressing these issues by donating our time and money toward organizations focused on improving health standards everywhere.
Donations can be made to the listed organizations by clicking on their names below:

Oftentimes, we find ourselves focused on things that either don't promote our own good health, or don't provide a healthy example for our family and friends.
We’ve listed five actions that Deleter’s can take to help improve their overall health and possibly speed-up any tattoo removal process.
1. Fortify Your System
Give your immune system a boost of vitamins. We offer six customized Nutrient Infusions that can target and fortify your system with important vitamins and minerals to help boost, enhance, and replenish the nutrients your body's needs.
2. Eat Healthy, Be Healthy
We read an article by Kathleen Squires from the Wall Street Journal recently on the benefits of some amazing foods that we as a society sometimes neglect. Here’s a list of some of those foods and their benefits.
- Avocados: Great source of monounsaturated fat. Contains potassium, vitamins C and K (which promote bone density), and folate. Folate is by far the most important nutrient, as it decreases breast cancer and colon-cancer risk.
- Grass-Fed Beef: The key words here are “Grass-Fed.” This type of meat contains more vitamin B and iron than corn-fed beef.
- Garlic: this pungent bulb is said to reduce your risk of breast and colon cancers, as well as being a great source of folate and sulfur (anticarcinogenics).
- Mushrooms: Fungi are more than just weird looking, they also contain minerals and vitamins B and D, which are vital to our health. Mushrooms are also said to help fight tumors of all kinds, as well as being an anti-inflammatory.
3. Repair Your Skin
In addition to eating foods like mushrooms and avocados, which help to replenish your body, you can also use a treatment we provide called CIT (Collagen Induction Therapy). This treatment tightens, lifts, and rejuvenates skin by naturally stimulating collagen production. CIT is a holistic approach to skin therapy, and helps your tattoo removal process go more smoothly.
4. Remove Dead Skin Cells
Getting a microdermabrasion is not just for people who want to look younger, but also for those of us who have normal wear and tear on our skin. This facial treatment leaves your skin smoother, softer, and healthier!
5. Delete Harmful Inks
Many people don’t know that the FDA does not regulate the ingredients used in tattooing ink, so you may be shocked to find out that you could have a reaction to some colored inks. Reds, yellows, and glow-in-the-dark inks are the most harmful. These colors use mercury, cadmium, and plasticizers. Not all reds and yellows have these toxic ingredients, but a fair number of them do. The best way to reduce your risk of a possible reaction to harmful ink is just to ask before you get inked; and even if you still have that tattoo, we can help you Delete it!
6. Promote Awareness of Healthy Habits
Despite living in a first-country world, many Americans either neglect or don’t know how to develop healthy habits. Give gentle reminders to your friends and family about proper health habits, and how to create a healthy environment. Raising awareness will help to prevent vector and vector-borne diseases from becoming any more prominent than they already are within our own country, and around the world.
Over the course of history tattoos have become widely accepted throughout America, but also across the world. Even more so, the number of people with tattoos has greatly increased throughout time, as there are 45 million Americans with at least one tattoo. There are rare cases however of those that are entirely, or at least mostly, covered in ink. About 20% of people say they regret their tattoos, and 11% of those with tattoos have taken the proper steps in getting them removed.
We’re going to give Delete—Tattoo Removal & Laser Salon’s top five most tattooed people in the world. Some of them are simply famous by their tattoos alone. While others have gained even more popularity because of their nature.
5. Rick Genest (The Zombie Boy)
He may not be the most tatted person in the world, but he certainly is 95% more covered
than the average person. This model from Montreal is covered in a skeletal tattoo that his donned him the name “Zombie Boy.”His tattoos were completed in 2008 and after beingfeatured in various Canadian interviews and blog sites. For this he has gained world-renown status, has been featured in modeling campaigns, performances, and Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Video. Featured above, he poses for a concealer product.
4. Tom Leppard (Leopard Man)
Tom Leppard, is completely covered in leopard spots and a tattoo paint to look like…you guessed it! A leopard! He’s also modified himself to resemble the animal even more. In this photo he is wearing leopard teeth and bears a menacing grin. While you may think that he is just a guy who did this long ago, he's actually 78 years old and was once named the Guinness Book of World Records’ “Most Tattooed Man.”
3. Chris Andersen (Birdman from Miami Heat)
Chris Andersen of the Miami Heat, or Birdman, is by far one of the most tattooed basketball players. His tattoo art began on his 18th birthday and has continued since. He’s not just all basketball and tattoos though, he’s an avid charity contributor and has his own charity called the Freebird Foundation.
2. Julia Gnuse (The Illustrated Woman)
Julia is the most tattooed woman in the world according to the Guinness Book of World Records. Her tattoos actually serve a purpose. Julia has a skin condition called porphyria which causes the skin to blister, leading to deep scarring. Her tattoos don’t cure her in anyway though, just hides the scarring!
1. Lucky Diamond Rich (The World’s Most Tattooed Man)
Rich is a New Zealand street performer who is 100% tattooed. That’s right, not a single inch of his original skin is visible. He claims that tattooing is like a drug for him. Now that he has no more available space, how do you think he’ll be able to satisfy the urge? Or, will he regret them all later on in life?
Everyone within the tattoo industry, whether you’re an artist or consumer, has a tattoo they regret, or they are completely in love with. Whatever your personal feelings are about that peace sign on your hip, or an ex’s name across your heart, just remember to take the time to reflect on what you want before you regret!
Are you preparing for the big night out on St. Patrick's Day? Many of us will flock to the bars and enjoy the spirit of the holiday. Of course drinking will happen, and hangovers will too. This is when it is time for one of Delete’s Nutrient IVs. A nutrient IV is the perfect solution for your Tuesday hangover. It will lead you into greater health and leave your body feeling rejuvenated.
Many people just like you have tried nutrient ivs, and more have benefited! So what exactly is in a Nutrient IV? This writer describes it as, “a surge of life that will return to you. Thank the magnesium. And the zinc…There’s other stuff like vitamin C super-boosts to keep your immune system strong. And The Elite Athlete, a housemade concoction of B-complex vitamins similar to what the Vegas Cirque du Soleil acrobats use after a night of bending and wild acrobatics.” For those that cannot visualize this creative expression, simply put, our nutrient IVs contain vitamin C, B complex, B12, Folic Acid, Selenium, Zinc, Magnesium, and calcium. All this comes into play when fighting that hangover. You see, your hangover is caused by several factors: the amount of sugar consumed, how much or how little you weigh, how old or young you are, if you are a smoker, and how much you guzzle down. In turn, this causes a hammer effect in the morning. Think about all this when drinking. But, don't concentrate too hard, trust that Delete--Tattoo Removal & Laser Salon will be there to help in the morning!
We offer 6 unique and specialized nutrient IVs to cater to everyone’s needs. Take advice from this blogger who wrote, “There is a new way to get your vitamins! If you don’t like swallowing pills or have a hard time consuming the recommended 8 servings of fruits and vegetables per day, there is now another option for you! In addition to tattoo removal using the latest state-of-the-art laser technology, performed by a trained team of certified medical professionals, Delete--Tattoo Removal & Laser Salon offers vitamin infusions and B12 shots.”
So, when you are in need of a little pick me up Tuesday morning…a Nutrient IV is worth a shot! Pun intended! And right now they are $90 (Through March 31st, 2014), clearly the way to go in kicking that hangover!

Do away with roses and chocolates, unless of course you accompany it with a gift certificate for laser tattoo removal.
2. It appeals to their personal taste: If they have been complaining about their tattoo for months, years, weeks, it’s time for it to go. This is a sign that your significant other is ready for a change, laser tattoo removal will help them reach that transformation. It shows that you are paying attention to what is happening in their life by meeting their needs, wants, and desires.
3. A time to learn & grow together: This could be a shared positive memory. It’s opportunities like this that allow you to strengthen your relationship’s foundation. Add a touch of romance by committing to come with them to get their tattoo removed. Together is always the best way to tackle your problems. Which leads us to the #1 reason you should give the gift of tattoo removal, being emotionally supportive.
4. Being emotionally Supportive:What is more enduring than showing your love and support by helping your significant other remove their emotional scars literally and figuratively! This is the best way to help them forget about their ex.
Bringing up exes is not that attractive and makes it hard to leave "Bob" out of your love life if he’s constantly staring you in the face. Don’t let a tattoo get in the way of you and your significant other this Valentine’s Day! The change of pace will do wonders on your romance! Most importantly have wonderful Valentine's Day!
Just like fashion, tattoos go out of style too. Delete Tattoo Removal & Laser Salon is writing this blog so that you don’t fall victim to a tattoo faux pas. In 2013 there was a noticeable trend amongst tattoos being removed. We saw our fair share of very similar/worn-out styles of tattoos being removed. Below is our list of some of the most common tattoos that are removed. If you are thinking about getting a similar tattoo in nature, our advice: think twice!
1) A love lost:
It just wasn’t as permanent as you though it was going to be. Luckily for tattoo removal you don’t have to live with it forever.
It’s a tough job market out there. Not only can a tattoo hinder your chances of landing a job, it can also impede upon promotional opportunities.
This is a big deal. We see a lot of parents wanting to remove their tattoos before their kids grow up, are old enough to understand and start asking questions.
4) Bad artistry:
Friends don’t let their friend practice
tattooing on each other! If someone asks if they can practice their artistry,
our recommendation, go ahead… if it’s with a pen or washable marker! Do not let
someone “practice” something permanent! Also, even with years of experience,
sometimes artists just aren’t that good! We all have bad days at work; this can even
happen with your tattoo artist. So choose wisely!
5) Change in lifestyle:
what you though was cool is not “that” cool anymore! As you grow older you regret that poor decision you made at the ripe age of 18. It is ok, people move on and so can your tattoo! Start your tattoo removal today! It's 2014 and you no longer have to live with your mistakes of 2013!
: that one time of year, where brides everywhere flock to Arizona for the Arizona Bridal Show
. As with most brides who come to the show, your number one concern is probably your tattoo. In fact, you are probably nervous because your parents are literally going to be the only people at your wedding without tattoos. We’ve all heard the horror stories of how tattoos can hurt your chances of getting a job, they can hurt relationships, & they can ruin weddings!? This according to wedding planners, who are witnessing first hand, all the name calling, hair pulling, eye ball gouging…Okay, not really…but plenty of controversy surrounding tattoos and wedding planning.
Don’t worry it is not just a case of "Bridezilla." Truth is, you are not alone. In fact, Sandy Malone, Owner owner of Weddings in Vieques says, "lately it's been coming up more and more in wedding planning." In an extreme case, Sandy Malone has a client that, "Isn't having a bridal party at all because her mother's first comment after her daughter got engaged was something like, "and I do hope you're going to choose something with sleeves for all of your decorated friends."
At Delete Tattoo Removal & Laser Salon we get it. You are planning the wedding of your dreams, it is your day, and should be exactly what you want! As a bride you have options for all your tattoo needs. We not only offer cover up options, but depending on your wedding date, you may have plenty of time to start the laser tattoo removal process. Enter married life with a clean slate. The only thing written in ink on your wedding day should be your wedding vows! Happy wedding planning! We look forward to seeing you at the Arizona Bridal Show!
Two Pink Lines?! You are pregnant! So what does that mean for your tattoo removal process? We spend a lot of time with our patients during the tattoo removal process, so we are always excited when we hear this
kind of news! However eager you are to remove that tattoo, Delete Tattoo Removal and Laser Salon will postpone your tattoo removal treatments during pregnancy. The good news is you can continue the process after you deliver and after you have finished breast feeding.
The reasoning is that there has not been extensive, or
significant, research studies with the risks associated with laser tattoo
removal and pregnancy. Thus it is better to be safe, and err on the side of
caution. When you receive a tattoo removal treatment the laser is breaking up
the ink and the ink particles are removed through your body’s immune system.
Tattoo ink is known to contain heavy metals that can be harmful to the fetus.
This is also why we recommend that you finish breast feeding before returning
for tattoo removal.
What if you became pregnant while receiving tattoo removal?
Do not worry, chances are the majority of the ink that is going to clear from
your last session already has. At Delete we space treatments every 6-8 weeks
apart, so that your skin has time to heal, and also so your immune system has
time to recover. Thus, most of your ink will have already cleared during that
6-8 week time period.
More than anything we want to be safe for you and your baby.
This is why we postpone treatments during pregnancy and breast feeding.
Currently, the Food and Drug Administration does very little to regulate tattoo
ink. This will be another story for a different day! But, is also the reason we
do not want to take any chances! So until baby is born and finished breast
feeding, we will look forward to the next time we see you, plus 1!!
Do you have a tattoo that impacts your life and that you want removed? Does it represent a time in your life that you no longer associate with? Or a person that you don’t want to be reminded of on a daily basis? Or is it located somewhere on your body making it difficult to get a job, or affecting the way you’re treated?
If so, listen closely, because we have an opportunity for you to get that tattoo removed for free! Oftentimes these are the reasons people come to us to get a tattoo removed. Decisions we make don’t have to be permanent, and we’re here to help. Tell your #TattooTale. We want to know your story; why you got it, when you got it, why you want it gone, how it would improve your life if it was removed, and any other history of your tattoo. Create a video, type it up, write it down… whatever is easiest for you. However you want to get the message across, we’re listening. Then share your Tattoo Tale with us on our FB page, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, or just email it to us at firstname.lastname@example.org. There is a lot of hype and even a new B12 Cardiovascular Benefits Study on CNN confirming what patients at Delete - Tattoo removal and Laser Salon have already discovered. Your body loves B12 shots! In addition to tattoo removal, B12 Boosts aka B12 shots and customized Nutrient Infusions are our most popular services but what are they and what do they do for your body?
Cobalamin (B12) is a water-soluble vitamin that is usually consumed through your food. Foods that contain B12 are meat, poultry, fish, eggs, and dairy. So if you’re not consuming enough of these foods or if your body cannot absorb them, you are most likely deficient in this essential vitamin. Deficiency of this vitamin can lead to serious health concerns like dementia, memory loss, neuropathy, anorexia, fatigue, anemia, and insomnia.
B12 works to protect us from nerve damage, cardiovascular disease, and is necessary for our body’s healing pathways. Vitamin B12 is important for helping to form new, healthy cells in the body. It also boosts energy, helping to increase activity levels. Other benefits of B12 include stimulating your metabolism and balancing mood by naturally encouraging the production of dopamine and serotonin in the brain.
Many times due to stress and malabsorbtion, this vitamin is not completely absorbed through our gut. This vitamin is available in supplement or injectable form to increase availability in our bodies. At Delete, we have this vitamin in injectable form. We can also add other vitamins to your B12 shot for an added boost. These additional vitamins are folic acid, B-complex, and MIC.
Folic acid is a water-soluble B vitamin that helps with cases of anemia, prevents neurological defects in fetuses, and can help with cardiovascular health. Since it is also a B vitamin, it has many common healing properties as B12 like helping to improve depression and memory.
B-complex is a combination of different B vitamins together. B-complex injections typically contain vitamin B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, and B7. All of these vitamins aid in the production of energy, new cell turnover, and normal growth and development. B vitamins also keep the immune system functioning properly and the skin and digestive system healthy.
MIC contains compounds that enhance liver function and increase the flow of fats and bile from the liver and gallbladder. By definition, MIC shots contain lipotropic substances that decrease the deposit, or speeds up the removal of fat within the liver.
Methionine is one of the sulphur-containing amino acids and is important for many bodily functions. It acts as a lipotropic agent to prevent excess fat buildup in the liver and the body, is helpful in relieving or preventing fatigue and may be useful in some cases of allergy because it reduces histamine release. Patients with a Sulfa allergy should not take this injection.
Inositol, a nutrient belonging to the B vitamin complex, is closely associated with choline. It aids in the metabolism of fats and helps reduce blood cholesterol. Inositol participates in the action of serotonin, a neurotransmitter known to control mood and appetite.
Choline supports the health of the liver in its processing and excretion of chemical waste products within the body. Moreover, it is required for the transport and metabolism of fats and cholesterol within the body, which is important for the healthy support of the endocrine, cardiovascular and hepatic systems. We can add any of these additional vitamins onto your B12 shot to give you an extra boost. So if you are having your tattoo removed or faded, this is a perfect addition to your treatment protocal. Come on into Delete and give it a "shot"!
by Dr. Jennifer Mundt, ND
We have recently launched a customized line of nutrient infusions at our salons that provide our customers’ proprietary nutrient bends to fortify and rejuvenate their health.
Nutrient infusions have been a subject of great inquiry and controversy in the past few months and even years. Some opinions weigh in that nutrient infusions are simply a placebo effect or that there is no proven evidence on helping someone who is not diagnostically sick. The idea of being “sick” is usually when your immune system can no longer battle the day-to-day onslaught of stress and germs. For some of us that can mean feeling fatigued, or that we are just not ourselves. For others that can mean we actually get a cold, begin having digestive issues or some other worse illness.
“Evaluation of the Biochemical Effects of Administration of Intravenous Nutrients Using Erythocyte ATP/ADP Ratios”, a 1999 study by Derrick Lonsdale, MD, et al., where they were trying to determine whether single nutrient infusions actually improved cellular energy at the mitochondrial level revealed insights into patients’ symptomatic improvement. A quote from this study says, “Some of the symptomatic improvement perceived by individual patients was quite striking, usually expressed as ‘more energy’, ‘less fatigue’ or ‘increased sense of well-being’.” Also that, “This form of treatment gives nutrient assistance to the powers of self-healing of the patient. It is irrespective of the descriptive classification of the disease and makes the basic assumption that every disease process is the result of overwhelmed defense activities of the host. The assumption extends to assuming automatic responses fail because of inefficient cellular energy.”
Nutrient Infusions should be done by a healthcare provider to ensure correct intravenous technique, cleanliness and safety with the osmolality. At Delete, all nutrient infusions (as well as other premier services for the skin) are administered by our registered nurses and doctors. Osmolality is the potency of the nutrient infusion and must be within a certain range so that it matches the osmolality of our blood cells. In the Lonsdale, et al. study, they reported that they “observed no long-term harm in any patient so treated, although symptoms may be temporary exacerbated before any benefit is experienced, particularly with a solitary infusion, so the patient is informed of the possibility before infusions begin.”
I always tell my patients that if this the first nutrient infusion they have ever had or if it has been a long time since there last nutrient infusion, they might get tired that afternoon or feel like they want to take a nap or go to bed early. In layman’s terms, it can put you into sleep mode. During sleep is when our body replenishes, regenerates and fixes the issues that are going on. Often times the patient feels much better upon waking up the next morning or within a couple of days. On the subsequent nutrient infusions the patient will usually feel much more energy and really feel like they are their “old-selves” (feeling younger, more energized and just have a better “sense of well-being”).
There are certainly things that a prospective patient inquiring about nutrient infusions needs to know. Certain complications are always a possibility; these complications listed in a 2000 study by Dr. Ian Bier, ND, PhD include “infection, phlebitis and thrombophlebitis, venous spasm, venous irritation, emboli, pain, hematoma or hemorrhage, extravasation, arterial canalization, and needlestick injury.” While these complications sound scary, the chance for complications largely decreases if the health professional providing the nutrient infusion is knowledgeable about giving them. The Bier study suggests that if the nutrient infusion is more potent (having a higher osmolality) then a slower push or drip-rate is suggested to avoid such complications.
So after all that, what are nutrient IVs good for anyways? And, why are there so many claims for this popular west coast trend of feeling so great after having one? In a 2002 study by Dr. Alan Gaby, MD, he lists several issues that nutrient IVs can be great for and it claims that “it has been the author’s [Dr. Alan Gaby, MD’s] observation that some patients who receive a series of IV injections become progressively healthier.” Diseases that nutrient infusions have been found to be effective against are “acute asthma attacks, migraines, fatigue (including chronic fatigue syndrome), fibromyalgia, acute muscle spasm, upper respiratory tract infections, chronic sinusitis, seasonal allergic rhinitis, cardiovascular disease, and other disorders”. In my own experience with patients, I have found that nutrient infusions have been wonderful at the very onset of seasonal allergies and upper respiratory infections to shorten the duration or decrease the intensity of the illness.
The other side to this piece is that what if our “defenses” did not have to get depleted and what if we felt like our normal selves all the time instead of feeling sluggish and fatigued all the time? Or, what if there was a way to strengthen our immune systems and replenish our stores of nutrients so we would be stronger and healthier, decreasing your chances of getting sick in the first place? Nutrient infusions can be just the boost someone needs nutritionally to allow the body to recoup slight nutrient depletion before they get to the point of feeling fatigued or before they get an upper respiratory infection. I often recommend nutrient infusions to those who know they will be travelling or going through a stressful time or during the holiday season when things always get crazy. Surely, there are not enough studies showing that doing nutrient infusions as prevention is a benefit, but I have seen it time and time again in my own patients as they are surviving our busy American lifestyles.
At Delete -- Tattoo Removal & Laser Salon we offer nutrient infusion blends to help get you rebalanced and re-energized so you don’t get too depleted. We recently launched 6 customized options of nutrient infusions that allow you to safely choose what you would like to focus on that day. They target everything from feeling sluggish, to recovering from a tough workout and even helping to cure a hangover. We do smaller nutrient infusion pushes (meaning a large syringe pushed by a healthcare provider) so that you only have to be in the office for 20 minutes versus the 1-3 hours it can sometimes take for the bags of infusions. Another benefit at Delete is that nutrient infusions can potentially be helpful as far as boosting the body after a tattoo removal session, potentially increasing the amount of ink cleared.
Nutrient infusions are certainly becoming a very popular way to feel better and feel like you can thrive in your life instead of feeling lethargic. The medical community must provide our due diligence to nutrient infusions and begin studying them more regularly and allow us to find out what this claim of “feeling so great” is all about. In the meantime, I will certainly be getting a couple of nutrient IVs before my 6 month-old and 4 year-old nieces arrive for the weekend, just what I need to keep up with them!
