College is about to begin and on goes the partying! There are several really great high quality tattoo shops around college campuses in Arizona. That’s not excuse however, to go and have a tattoo done. With so many tattoo shop options available, and a plethora of artists to choose from, are you asking yourself the right questions before you stop in for some ink? In the list below, we cover five questions you should be asking yourself before you jump in the tattoo game and wind up with tattoo regret after.
Can you find a tattoo parlor you trust?
There are tattoo artists all over the country – and the world – so no matter where you’re going, you’ll be able to find someone willing to ink you. Their willingness is not the only thing you’ll need to consider, though. Before deciding on a tattoo shop be sure that:
- The artist wears gloves.
- They sterilize their equipment.
- They open a brand new needle in front of you.
- The ink used on you is not diluted with anything except sterile water.
- They are approved and/or registered by their local jurisdiction.
- They only use ink made specifically for tattoos.
- Hygienic practices are followed in the shop.
Delete – Tattoo Removal & Laser Salon is partnered with local tattoo shops around the valley. If you’re really adamant about having a tattoo done, call us and hear who we recommend you go to. What’s more, make sure your tattoo artist is an artist.
Are you sure that’s where you want it?
Being impulsive and spontaneous is fun, but not when it means going home with a tattoo in the wrong spot. For example, you don’t want to come home from college with a tattoo covering your hand (or face) if you plan on working in an industry in which visible tattoos may reduce the number of opportunities available to you.
Are you sure that’s what you want?
As a general rule of thumb, if you have to try to come up with the idea for the tattoo on the spot, then it’s probably not a good idea. A wise person once said that anytime you decide what you want inked on your body you should have it drawn and then wait a year. If you still want it, then you can reasonably assume you’ll like it another year later.
Are you drunk?
It’s no secret that college and drinking go hand in hand – no judgement here! Too often people think they need a little booze to have the courage for their tattoo appointment. The truth is that being drunk can not only result in making an impulsive decision you’ll regret, but it can also thin the blood which leads to more bleeding and more pain. We suggest you wait until you sober up. A great tattooist will refrain from tattooing you if you’re drunk!
Are you 100% sure?
When your friends want tattoos and you want to go along with them, it can be easy to be swept up in the moment. If you have doubts, then it’s better to wait. You can always be tattooed a week, a month, or a year from now. Wait until you’re sure and you’ll be glad you did.
When You’re Sure You’ve Made a Mistake
Of course, even with the best advice, sometimes people still end up regretting their tattoos. We often hear “it just didn’t turn out the way I expected it to look.” If you’re wishing you’d read this list before you had your last design inked, contact Delete Tattoo Removal and let us remove your unwanted tattoo – safely and comfortably.
