Job Title:  Salon Manager

Location: Phoenix, AZ

Classification: Non-Exempt, Full Time

Salary: Commensurate with experience; Base Salary + Bonus based on revenue and customer satisfaction metrics

Delete, Tattoo Removal and Laser Salon meets the needs of consumers, who are looking to erase the past.  Delete is an innovative, medical aesthetic salon serving the greater Phoenix area honestly, safely, and expertly.

Job Description: The Salon Manager will help foster the “Delete” culture through intrinsic motivation, passion, integrity, creativity and hospitality.  The Salon Manager must ensure the staff provide a genuinely compassionate, professional and memorable experience. The Salon Manager is responsible for all facets of the salon operations – cleanliness, staffing, customer service and financial performance. Success relies on strong leadership, consultative sales focus, & resources to support staff.  The Salon Manager will educate staff on all retail products, as well as services provided to ensure cross-selling and maximum profitability. The Salon Manager will ensure that our business is well-coordinated and productive by managing procedures, patient treatment pathways and marketing efforts  The Salon Manager is expected to maintain the budget provided, meet retail, service & profitability goals, and create/maintain a rewarding experience for all.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Customer Service/Leadership

  • Lead by example by providing quality customer service and issue resolution in a timely manner
  • Ensure staff consistently follows procedures, achieves goals and delivers outstanding hospitality
  • Treat patients, guests & employees with fairness, integrity, positivity and consistency
  • Deliver a strong & consistent work ethic
  • Inspire greatness

Staff Management

  • Evaluate the hiring needs of the salon, interview and onboard new staff; This will include but not be limited to patient coordinators
  • Oversee schedules, payroll processes, overtime, incentive awards & commissions
  • Oversee and coach employees to meet consistent standards daily
  • Oversee ongoing staff training and development, to include quarterly customer service trainings
  • Prepare & execute front office annual reviews, with one-on-one coaching in partnership with Medical Director
  • Manage and delegate tasks to staff using patient treatment pathways, Patient Now productivity, service and sales reports and ensure schedules are maximized for increased revenue potential
  • Ensure all employees are operating with current licenses
  • Communicate and enforce company policy and procedures
  • Document all performance issues in a timely manner
  • Handle employee discipline; issue written and final warnings as necessary; recommend termination of employees to Director and/or Owner
  • Suspend an employee for a serious violation, pending investigation
  • Supervise the daily work of all employees; direct, assign, and change work assignment; approve overtime

Service Management

  • Utilize exceptional relationship skills to increase existing patient base and build a strong referral program
  • Insure that all inquiries are responded to and converted into consultations and sales  
  • Identify new opportunities through phone sales using patient database, online resources, and cold calling with a minimum 12 hours weekly of phone time and minimum 100 outbound calls per week  
  • Present effective education and consultations to prospective patients
  • Oversee all services provided and understand competitive environment to ensure we provide world class service properly priced  
  • Be aware of industry trends and implement new service/retail offerings to ensure Delete remains industry leader
  • Manage all patient/services provided, canceled and/or rescheduled utilizing full staff to maximize patient retention

Administrative and Marketing

  • Process payroll – adhere to payroll deadlines, review timecards and verify commissions
  • Purchase/inventory control of retail products, as well as complimentary products provided in the salons  This includes proper receiving procedures  Manage product loss & use, including back bar products
  • Process bills for all retail and professional products
  • Product/Service set up in Patient Now
  • Assist in developing annual budget and goals; Drive business to meet monthly and annual goals
  • Plan & develop creative merchandising strategies to maximize retail sales
  • Coordinate staff’s marketing activities, identify new promotional and social media opportunities and be an integral part of the annual marketing planning process

Daily Operations

  • Oversee cleanliness & maintenance needs of salon areas, including outside areas
  • Oversee cleanliness of all desk, office & storage areas, including displays
  • Oversee amenity and operational supplies
  • Provide support to all other departments as needed
  • Maintain good relations with vendors, while keeping up to date on any new services & trends

Financial

  • Use financial results for managing and measuring trends, productivity and success  
  • Interpret financial reports and provide expertise on achieving budget as needed
  • Control services and products to ensure maximum profitability
  • Review of sales and service reports daily
  • Provide monthly (or as needed) inventory counts
  • Other tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Experience with working in a professional environment with strong hospitality or medical focus
  • Firm knowledge of basic office practices, procedures, and computer applications is required with Microsoft Office, Photoshop, Social Media and CRM experience preferred
  • Previous supervisory experience required, minimum of 4 years preferred
  • Demonstrable leadership ability
  • Outstanding relationship skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with integrity
  • Excellent sales acumen motivated by a high degree of customer satisfaction and compensation
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills with strong listening, negotiation and influencing skills
  • Ability to multitask, may need to fill in as needed
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and to strategically analyze and solve issues quickly
  • Ability to build a strong & productive team environment
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with a willingness to work mornings, evenings and Saturdays
  • Degree from a four-year college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Demonstrated record of success and exceeding activity and revenue goals in a fast-paced, evolving and accountable environment
