For every tattoo removal or tattoo fading, we start with a complimentary no-commitment consultation, usually 30 minutes or less.
During this time, you will sit with a Delete certified physician to discuss the tattoo you want to be removed. You and the physician will talk about the depth of your tattoo, the area the tattoo covers, and color of the ink. Because some of the success of your tattoo removal depends on your body’s ability to break down the ink as a result of your laser treatment, the physician will also ask several questions about your health and wellness.
Lastly, you will review our two in-house laser options, anticipated number of treatments, pain-reducing options, and pricing. Your thoughtfully created treatment plan will reflect all of your wishes in this process.
At Delete, we’re proud of our two laser treatment options in delivering results in fewer sessions. On average, the PicoWay laser removes professional tattoos in 4 to 6 treatments and amateur tattoos in as little as 2 or 3. On average, the AlexELETE Q-switched laser removes professional tattoos in 8 to 12 treatments, while amateur tattoos typically require 6 treatments.
The Beauty in the End Result
At the end of your personalized plan, you and your physician will evaluate the removed tattoo area and determine if any next steps are necessary. At the end of your treatment plan, our goal is for you to leave with a newfound confidence from your faded or deleted tattoo.
Your First Treatment
After the initial consultation, you will schedule the first treatment of your personalized treatment plan that you and the physician created. Your physician will walk you through what you can expect during each session, from your pain management application to how the laser works. Treatment times will vary depending on the tattoo area, typically from 15-45 minutes each session. Most of our patients choose a numbing option to make treatments more comfortable.
Once the laser treatment is complete, a bandage will be applied and it’s recommended you ice throughout the first 24 hours. You will also be given care instructions after your first treatment, as well as advice to help keep your body healthy in between sessions.
Depending on the tattoo size and other factors, you can expect to come in regularly to Delete for treatments once every 6 to 8weeks. Certain tattoos are more challenging to remove than others and there are a number of variables that may affect how the body responds to tattoo removal.
