Wimbledon Audiences not in ‘love? with Player’s Tats

Tennis is just like any other sport, allowing for freedom of expression by fans and athletes alike. – Distracting? Nahhhh

Several players revealed intricate ink, including U.S. doubles specialist Bethanie Mattek-Sands. She has flower tattoos up to her shoulder, black eye makeup and strikingly dyed green and purple hair. This would suggest that Wimbledon is stepping away from its more conservative image of past, but spectators aren’t fond of the ink.

This article from the Metro UK says that traditionalists of the sporting event think that ink has no place on the courts. There was also ‘concern? at the Ascot, which is another traditional British sporting event.

What do you think? Do tattoos distract from tennis? Will spectators demand tattoo removal one day?!
